If you’re a regular reader of the UK Healthcare blog you might know that we like to do our bit for charity, so when the opportunity arose to help the guys at Bolton Lads & Girls Club, we were more than happy to get involved.
We have donated £10,000 to the youth centre’s brilliant Inclusion Scheme, which ensures that young people living with disabilities and complex requirements enjoy the same opportunities as those who are able bodied.
Every single week, the BLGC provides almost 3,000 young people with recreational opportunities, performing arts programmes and a variety of sporting activities. This includes delivering intensive support, guidance and training to Bolton’s at-risk youths through one to one mentoring and group sessions.
Above all else the club is dedicated to including as many people as possible in their programs, respecting all cultural differences and catering to young people of all abilities. Our donation will help the club to make this happen.
Did you know that the BLGC has been providing the area’s young people with a safe haven in which to spend their free time for more than 120 years? The club is the biggest of its kind in the UK. Young people aged 8 to 21 years old are welcome to go along and get involved. Meanwhile, youngsters living with disabilities are invited along until the age of 25.
Why not pay a visit to the BLGC yourself and discover all of the great work the team are doing to entertain and educate the kids of Bolton and beyond?
